Square Enix announces Patch 5.3 as player count reaches 20 million.
The Final Fantasy patch 5.3 will be rolling out in August according to Square Enix. Reported registered players of the decades old MMOPRG are now surpassing 20 million and continue to grow. The recent patch allows players to ramp-up their epic journey by giving them a chance of streamlining the main quest from “A Realm Reborn” and a expanded free trial edition.
The FFXIV expanded trial includes everything from A Realm Reborn and Heavensward expansions. It also includes all 3.x patches which enable players to level up to 60. The expanded trial provides 100 of hours of playtime with no restriction on playtime. Those playing A Realm Reborn already also have access to Heavensward and the goodies that come with it.
With the patch, players can now use flying mounts in a Realm Reborn once The Ultimate Weapon quest is completed. There are also new challenges, including the Shadowbringers finale story as well as the next chapter in the NieR Automata-themed YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse series.
There is a new dungeon named, “The Hero’s Gauntlet”, a new trial including some that feature powered-up primals, updates to the game, minor changes to the UI, and some new rewards. All this is coming to the PS4 and PC on August 11, 2020.
