Studio releases an update for the production table for the MGS movie.
You’ve heard the rumors… you know the one about a Metal Gear Solid movie? Well it seems that Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) is set to direct it. He’s released an update on the progress of where the project is at currently. He says that the script is a wrap, but he hasn’t gotten the “go ahead” from the big guys upstairs at the studio to actually start making it. You know, the whole COVID-19 situation has hurt Hollywood bad.
He goes on to say that he had really hoped to have been in production at this point. And during a recent interview with Gamespot, Voogt-Roberts said, “COVID has sort of changed everything and we’re figuring out a bunch of stuff. I have no idea when it’s going to go. I will fight for it every single day. It’s tough getting movies made, especially something where you’re trying to be bold like this. I will fight every single day until I can’t.”
Apparently, he has a few actors in mind for the movie. He’s not shedding any light on who they would be and who is on his wish list. There is an animated series possibly in the works in which David Hayter would return to be the voice of Snake.
