Balan Company reveals its new action platformer – Balan Wonderworld.
The Balan Wonderworld is “a strange and mysterious land that you visit when you come to a turning point in life.” Square Enix’s new studio Balan Company teased their new Balan Wonderworld. A world where Emma and Leo travel and have adventures in the surreal landscapes.
Yuji Naka, the former head of Sonic Team, is behind the creation of Balan Wonderworld. He is joined by Naoto Oshima, the creator of Nights Into Dreams (Arzest). Together, they have launched Balan Company and created a great looking 3-D action platformer. They have pronounced it the, “action game of action games.” Environments are interesting and often whimsical. Bright colors are everywhere, and goofy characters are met throughout one’s adventures. Music is top-notch and lends well to the overall experience of the game.
Mind what you wear, as each costume provides different abilities. 80 different costumes unlock different actions and abilities. The have titles like Whirling Wolf, Happy Blaster, Super Streamer, Pumpkin Puncher, Laser Launcher, Web Wrangler, and Bulldozer. From the titles alone you can get a sense of what the costumes do. There’s a lot of them, so getting bored with a single attribute doesn’t seem very likely in this game.
