Eerie Games Studio is the name of the new development team comprised mostly from the developers responsible for the creation of the Hello Neighbor series. The new developmental space and team will be headquartered in Hilversum, Netherlands.
TinyBuild’s money got them the dev team and the company is committing to investing a large portion of the $15M into the franchise through various media. Earlier in March, TinyBuild announced that Hello Neighbor, a horror themed game about a neighbor that has a secret in the house, had over 30 million downloads. It is reporting that the game has over 40 million players currently.
As with much of the industry, TinyBuild is reporting that they have seen a dramatic surge in their free-to-play (F2P) subscription signups over the last few months. This is do to the environment that the pandemic has created. Making more and more people stay home and thereby in front of their screens. People are looking for engagement to take-up their newly acquired free-time without having to spend a lot of money.
According to TinyBuild’s CEO, Alex Nichiporchik, the company wants to grow the franchise even more through different channels. They are currently working on a board game version of the horror game. They also have their eye on the lookout for more acquisitions to further their brand and possible allow it to enter into different media segments.
One cannot rest when building an empire. TinyBuild is in the process of coming-out with a graphic novel later in the Fall of 2020, and their animated series test pilot on YouTube has had a whopping 12.7 million views in the past 3 months.
